This site was formerly a service station, but has been cleared and is now a vacant lot. In addition to sampling four groundwater monitoring wells and a water supply well, the out-of-service on- site water supply was abandoned on August 24, 2010 in accordance with the Iredell County Health Department-Environmental Health Division Private Drinking Water Well Permit dated April 13, 2010. A copy of the permit and the abandonment report are provided in Appendix E . . wQ!LA~1_gust 19, ... ~010, monitoring wells .MW.::1~~,J~i:Y:?, ... ~~:.J1~~,.1!n~LJ\1W-4 were sampled along with the water supply well WSW-Apventure 117. Groundwater samples were collected from the monitoring wells using dedicated disposable bailers and a fresh pair of disposable nitrile gloves was worn during the collection of each san1ple. Prior to sampling the wells, well booms in monitoring wells MW-2 and MW-3R were removed and inspected, and the '"•~~.,,.,m=•-,-•~¼""' "•~~'••---"""'~•--•~-•h"'e=~W~•>,=~<sm=•-~•e>J static water level in the monitoring wells was gauged using an electronic water level indicator. The monitoring wells were then purged by bailing three well volumes of water using dedicated disposable bailers. The temperature, pH, and specific conductivity were measured to ensure the collection of groundwater samples representative of surficial aquifer conditions prior to sampling. Since the well booms had not been consumed to the point of replacement, they were returned to their respective wells after sampling was completed. Field screening data is summarized in Appendix D. The monitoring well gauging and elevation data is summarized in Table 1.
