RE: Removal of POE/Carbon Filtration System Former Emogene Moody Property State Road, NC Incident # 22446 Dear Mr. Moody: One behalf of the UST Section of the North Carolina Division of Waste Management, Terraine, Inc., personnel collected a water sample from the water supply well at the referenced site on February 12, 2008. TestAmerica analyzed the sample for volatile organic compounds by Method 6210D. Based on the analysis performed by TestAmerica, the sample did not contain any analytes at concentrations exceeding the laboratory method detection limits. A copy of the analytical report is attached for your convenience. Since the sample did not contain detectable concentrations of
volatile organic compounds, the UST Section intends to authorize removal of the Point of Entry treatment system from the property. Please note that periodic samples will be collected from the well as part of the ongoing assessment activities. According to information available to the UST Section, you have purchased the referenced property for rental purposes. Based on UST Section policy, should the water supply well at the site become unfit for human consumption, it would be your responsibility to provide an alternate source of safe drinking water for the site occupant.
