Following gauging, well MW‐3 was purged with a dedicated, disposable polyethylene (PE) bailer.   Following purging and adequate recharge of groundwater within the well, samples were  decanted directly into pre‐preserved laboratory grade sample containers provided by Waypoint  Analytical, LLC (Waypoint) for analysis of VOCs by Standard Method (SM) 6200B.    Laboratory Results    Analytical results for groundwater samples obtained from monitoring well MW‐3 in June 2023  showed the following:      Several targeted compounds were reported in the sample from MW‐3 at concentrations  exceeding their NC 2L Standards.     Results for samples from MW‐3 showed total VOC decreases of 26% over data for the well  from March 2023.    Analytical results from the June 2023 groundwater sampling event are included in Table B‐4  (Abbreviated).  Field notes and site photos are included as Attachment A, while the laboratory  analytical report is provided as Attachment B.  The nearest water supply well previously reported in proximity to the release is WSW‐1,  (reportedly) located 192 feet cross‐gradient from the site.  WR previously sent the owner of  WSW‐1 a letter confirming the water supply well is inactive, but a response has not been  received to date. Based on information from the Town of Pollocksville, the property on which  WSW‐1 is located is connected to the municipal water supply.    One municipal water supply, WSW‐2, is located 659 feet cross‐gradient from the site.  An  additional municipal water supply well, WSW‐3, is located 1,517 feet cross‐gradient from the  site.  WR appreciates the opportunity to be of service to the Federal & State Lead Program.  Should LLC (Charlotte) received sample(s) on 6/23/2023 for the analyses presented in the following report. The above referenced project has been analyzed per your instructions. The analyses were performed in accordance with the applicable analytical method. The analytical data has been validated using standard quality control measures performed as required by the analytical method. Quality Assurance, method validations, instrumentation maintenance and calibration for all parameters were performed in accordance with guidelines established by the USEPA (including 40 CFR 136 Method Update Rule May 2021) unless otherwise indicated. Certain parameters (chlorine, pH, dissolved oxygen, sulfite...) are required to be analyzed within 15 minutes of sampling. Usually, but not always, any field parameter analyzed at the laboratory is outside of this holding time. Refer to sample analysis time for confirmation of holding time compliance. The results are shown on the attached Report of Analysis(s). Results for solid matrices are reported on an as- received basis unless otherwise indicated. This report shall not be reproduced except in full and relates only to the samples included in this report. Please do not hesitate to contact me or client services if you have any questions or need additional information.
