Dear Mr. Chairman:
The Governor and I .appreciate your cooperation in the meeting we
held and the allowing of state representatives and EPA personnel to
visit your county landfill. At the suggestion of EPA, we now wish
to cause soil testing to be made in the landfill . We request your
permission to allow that . You will be contacted by personnel from the
Department of Human Resources about the time and we wish you to make
such arrangements as will be convenient. The Department of Transportation
will probably do the actual soil testing under the supervision of the
Department of Human Resources. Mr. David Kelly, Assistant Secretary of
this Department, will coordinate these efforts.
