STATUS OF PAST NOTED VIOLATIONS:
During the first week of May, Mr. Jeffrey Bullard witnessed an unlettered pumper vehicle for Greaseman
Services at Grease Outlet off Wilmington Street in Raleigh, NC. Since a Firm Permit had not been issued yet,
Greaseman Services was in violation of Rules 15A NCAC 13B .0832(a)(1), .0834(g), and .0835(b). This
pumper vehicle inspection is the last part of the requirement for the permit to be issued.
OBSERVED VIOLATIONS:
1) The letters for the town name and permit number were less than 3 inches in height as required by
Rule 15A NCAC 13B .0835(b). Emailed pictures of the corrected lettering were received on
06/01/2023. See pictures below.
2) The tank was bolted to the bed of the truck. Tank needs to be bolted to the frame of the truck as per
Rule 15A NCAC 13B .0835(a)(1). Emailed pictures of the bolting of the tank to the frame were
received on 06/01/2023. See pictures below.
The item(s) listed above were observed by Section staff and require action on behalf of the facility in order to come into or maintain compliance
with the Statutes, Rules, and/or other regulatory requirements applicable to this facility. Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an
administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit,
or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to
enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and
any such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules.

2) Upon inspection on 05/30/2023, the required information of Firm name, town name, phone #, and
permit # was on both sides of the pumper vehicle. However, the letters for the town name and permit #
were less than 3 inches in height. The letters were corrected, and pictures emailed on 06/01/2023
showing that the height of the letters for the town name and permit # were now greater than 3 inches in
height. As of 06/01/2023, the lettering meets the requirements of 15A NCAC 13B .0835(b). See pictures
below.
3) The tank is made of steel. The tank was bolted to the bed of the truck. Asked for the tank to be bolted
to the frame of the truck. Pictures were emailed on 06/01/2023 showing that the tank was bolted to the
frame of the truck as per 15A NCAC 13B .0835(a)(1).
4) The valves appeared to be in working order and closed as per 15A NCAC 13B .0835(a)(2). Caps present
on ports.
5) Access ports were closed and properly sealed as per 15A NCAC 13B .0835(a)(3).
6) No leaks noticed as per 15A NCAC 13B .0835(a).
7) As of 06/01/2023, truck in compliance with the Septage Rules.
