STATUS OF PERMIT:
Expired; Annual Yard Waste Facility Notification issued June 2020; expired 31 May 2021. *A completed Yard Waste
Facility Annual Notification Form was submitted to the Solid Waste Section Compost and Land Application Branch
on 13 June 2021 and is awaiting review.
PURPOSE OF SITE VISIT:
Comprehensive Facility Compliance Inspection
STATUS OF PAST NOTED VIOLATIONS:
None applicable
OBSERVED VIOLATIONS:
No violations were observed during this Facility Compliance Inspection; please see the ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
section below.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
1) This facility is a Yard Waste Facility Notification under two acres in size.
2) This facility is permitted to receive Type I waste commonly referred to as yard waste. Yard waste is defined in
G.S. 130A-290 as yard trash and land clearing debris which includes stumps, limbs, leaves, grass, and untreated
wood.
3) This facility can receive the aforementioned wastes for processing and storage in volumes not greater than
6,000 cubic yards per three-month period. This measurement is calculated using the volume of waste and

finished material staged on-site.
4) The land on which this facility is located is described in the deed recorded with the Pitt County Register of
deeds at: Book #48; Page #337.
5) The hours of operation for this facility are Monday through Saturday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
6) The access road to the facility is being managed properly at this time.
7) Signage is posted at the entrance to the facility stating the facility contact information, hours of operation, and
types of waste received.
8) This site is secured by a chain-link fence with a locked gate at the facility entrance and has controlled access
for security. The access gate was unlocked and open upon my arrival at the facility and facility staff were on-
site during this Facility Compliance Inspection.
9) A roll-off container is maintained on site for the removal of any unpermitted waste found on site. This
container is removed from the site for proper disposal as needed.
10) Landclearing waste and yard trash have been brought on site and staged for processing.
11) All waste setbacks and buffers are being maintained as required.
12) The waste type was reviewed. No unpermitted wastes or unacceptable waste streams were noted during this
Facility Compliance Inspection.
13) Less than six thousand cubic yards of unprocessed vegetative waste and processed wood chips were observed
on-site during this Facility Compliance Inspection.
14) This facility maintains a Caterpillar 953C Crawler Dozer and a Caterpillar 962M Wheel Loader on-site for
facility operations.
15) A Morbark Wood Hog 6600 Horizontal Grinder has been brought on site for the processing of vegetative
waste.

16) Grinding operations were underway during this Facility Compliance Inspection.
17) All ground wood chips are removed from the site and used for boiler fuel or used in composting operations at
the Craven Ag Services Solid Waste Compost Facility, permit #25-14 in Vanceboro, Craven County, NC.
18) The ground wood chips are being processed and removed from the site in a timely manner.
19) No off-site erosion was observed during this Facility Compliance Inspection.
20) No violations were observed during this Facility Compliance Inspection.
