This office acknowledges the receipt of a UST Closure/ Initial Abatement Action Report for the
subject site on January 25, 2023. Your cooperation is appreciated. The report has been reviewed
and maintained in the Guilford County Health Department in Greensboro, North Carolina.

The review of the report indicates that soil contamination was detected in soil samples collected
from beneath USTs, dispensers and product lines during closure and initial abatement activities.
A groundwater monitoring well needs to be installed downgradient as close as possible to the new
USTs for free product check and groundwater sampling for risk-based analysis because previously
installed monitoring wells were too far from the former tank pit.
