Hey Leann,
I was told that you are the person to contact concerning cost recovery for pre‐approved completed tasks that have been
reimbursed by the Trust Fund.
At the subject site, the monitoring wells were installed with the screened interval starting below the water table. This
well installation was completed even though there was prior knowledge of the shallow water table due to a well already
on‐site.
I did notice this issue when the wells were first installed but have been waiting to see seasonable trends before
submitting for cost recovery.
There is Free Product at this site and I believe that the wells being screened below the water table can have an impact
on the contaminant delineation.
I have attached some information pertaining to the wells at this site. I believe that monitoring wells (MW) MW‐2 and
MW‐3 should be considered for cost recover due to the depth to water and the known prior‐knowledge of water depth
before install.
As the Depth to water in MW‐4 has not been greater than 1.90 feet below land surface, I think cost recovery on this well
in NOT required as a screened interval cannot start less than this depth. Also, cost recovery for MW‐5 may be forgiven
b/c this MW was approved to be installed after the other wells were installed and depth to water known by the
consultant and UST‐CAB.
I have also attached the two pre‐approvals that approved the installation of these MW’s. MW‐2 and MW‐3 were
approved on TA 47115‐2 and MW‐5 was approved on TA 47115‐4.
Let me know if you need additional information on my end or if you need me to do/contact someone else.
Thank you.
