The report documents initial abatement actions taken to mitigate a release of Non PCB Mineral Oil. The release of mineral oil from the Maysville substation was caused by vandalism involving gunshots to several transformers. Immediate response included recovery of mineral oil by vacuum trucks, absorbent booms and pads. Approximately 105 tons of contaminated material was excavated until no visual product was observed. In accordance with SL 2011-38, the UST Section determines that no further action is warranted for this incident. This No Further Action determination applies only to the subject incident: for any other incidents at the subject site, the responsible party must continue to address contamination as required.
