Hi Sylvia,
Just wanted to check back in on your progress on reviewing the IAA and GW Sampling Report for the Farm Tank Property
(Inc 48553). Hopefully you agree with our findings for a NFA for this incident. If you are having some issues with the
PAHs that were analyzed during the tank removal a few years ago and the PAHs that popped up in labs during the IAA
and GW sampling, I am being told by the current property owner representatives that a fire occurred due to a lightning
strike that hit a pole or tree and then fire damaged a barn all in the area of the old tank and IAA/GW sampling
activities. It is my understanding that burnt wood materials can attribute to higher laboratory “hits” of PAHs. We are
thinking that these burnt wood materials may have been buried in this area of the site and that is why some of the PAHs
are wacky.
Let me know what you think once you have reviewed the report.
Thanks,
K. Allen McColl, Jr.
