(GRI) presents the results of the soil assessment and receptor survey activities at the Grantham Supply & Supermarket site in Goldsboro, North Carolina (Figures 1 and 2). The activities were conducted in response to the May 18, 2020, correspondence from NCDEQ. On June 11, 2020, GRI advanced one soil boring (SB-1) to a total depth of approximately 2 feet below ground surface (bgs) adjacent to the 8,000-gallon gasoline UST spill bucket. A soil sample was collected from the soil boring and submitted for analyses of VOCs by EPA Method 8260 and VPH by MADEP Method. A Site Map showing the location of SB-1 and structures onsite has been included as Figure 3. A copy of the boring log has been included as Appendix A. Please see the attached laboratory report for the results of the June 2020 soil sampling. The Residential Soil Cleanup Levels were below the concentrations reported in soil sample SB-1. A copy of the laboratory report is included as Appendix B. During receptor survey activities, no potable water supply wells were identified within a 1,500-foot radius of the site and no surface water bodies identified within a 500-foot radius of the site. One non- potable water supply well (WSW-1) was identified within 1,500 feet of the site. Public water is available to the site and surrounding properties. The site is not located within a designated wellhead protection area. The surficial aquifer in the vicinity of the site is approximately 60 feet thick and is underlain by the Black Creek confining unit and Black Creek aquifer, respectively. The Black Creek confining unit is approximately 90 feet thick in the vicinity of the site.
