Dear Ms. Brown:
Groundwater & Environmental Services, Inc. (GES), on behalf of Murphy Oil USA, Inc. (Murphy),
has completed monitoring well abandonment activities at the referenced site. The site location is
illustrated on Figure 1. These activities were performed in in accordance with the Notice of No
Further Action issued March 20, 2023.
GES contracted with Versatile Environmental Resource Company (VERCO) to provide a licensed
well driller for well abandonment. GES and VERCO mobilized to the site on April 3, 2023 to
abandon monitoring well MW-1 at the location shown on Figure 2. The monitoring well was
abandoned using a grout slurry emplaced within the well via a tremie pipe from the total well depth
to within approximately six (6) inches below ground surface and the manhole was filled with
concrete. A copy of the licensed well driller’s abandonment record is included in Attachment A
and photographs of the abandonment activities are included in Attachment B.
