Dear Mr. McDonald:
The UST Section, Division of Waste Management, is in receipt of the Comprehensive Site Assessment Report dated
February 21, 2023. The report has been reviewed along with consideration of the suggested remedial strategy to
excavate soil within the previously identified impacted smear zone.
The strategy was discussed with UST Section management and Trust Fund Branch staff, and it has been decided to
forgo excavation at this time. You are requested to conduct quarterly product gauging (with use of absorbents as
necessary) and groundwater monitoring to establish more of a data history. Sampling should include only MW-1,
MW-2, MW-3, MW-5, MW-10, MW-11 & MW-12 unless data indicates otherwise, and the schedule can be modified.
A Monitoring Report is due on or before August 31, 2023.
If you have questions regarding the information contained in this letter, please contact me at the address or telephone
number listed below.
Sincerely,
Kenneth E. Currie
