Dear Ms. Lafond:

In accordance with the requirements set forth in your letter to Mr. Geoffrey Ellis, owner of
Greystone Inn dated March 10, 2023 granting a Conditional Notice of No Further Action
(CNFA), Public Notice was provided to property owners within or contiguous to the area where
contamination is expected to migrate from the referenced incident location. A copy of the CNFA
was sent by certified mail to Lake Toxaway Company the only adjacent property owner. Notice
was also provided to the Transylvania County Manager and Transylvania County Health
Department. All signed certified mail receipts were received by Martin & Slagle. Copies of the
returned certified mail receipts are attached.

This site meets the requirements for a low-risk non-commercial site under Title 15A NCAC 2L
.0202 and .0400 as modified by Session Law 2015-241, but groundwater contamination exceeds
the limits allowed for unrestricted closure of the site. Having met this requirement and
providing evidence of completion of the required Public Notice, Martin & Slagle GeoSciences,
P.A. requests a Notice of No Further Action for this site on behalf of the property owner.
