Barringer Distributing 1620 Fairfax Road Greensboro, North Carolina Guilford County Incident Number: 30776 GRI Project Number: 5925 Dear Mr. Wilson, GRI presents the results of the monitoring well installation and ground water sampling activities at the R.H. Barringer site in Greensboro, North Carolina. The activities were conducted in accordance with the November 11, 2022, proposal to the NCDEQ. On April 4, 2023, GRI installed monitoring well MW-2 to a total depth of approximately 20 feet BGS with a 15-foot screened interval. No free product was observed at the time of installation. A ground water sample was collected from the newly installed monitoring well and submitted for analyses of VOCs by EPA Method 6200B, Lead by method 6010D, and EPH and VPH by the MADEP method. The depth to water in monitoring well MW-2 was 3.74 feet prior to sampling. A Site Location Map and Site Map have been included as Figure 1 and Figure 2 respectively. A copy of the boring log and well construction record have been included as Appendix A. Please see the attached laboratory report for the results of the April 2023 ground water sampling. A concentration of MTBE was detected in the sample from MW-2 but did not exceed the MAC. All other requested chemical constituents were reported below the method detection limits. A summary of the groundwater analytical results is included as Table 1. A copy of the laboratory report is included as Appendix B. No further action is warranted for this incident and a NFA letter should be issued. GRI Project Number: 5925 R.H. The above referenced project has been analyzed per your instructions. The analyses were performed in accordance with the applicable analytical method. The analytical data has been validated using standard quality control measures performed as required by the analytical method. Quality Assurance, method validations, instrumentation maintenance and calibration for all parameters were performed in accordance with guidelines established by the USEPA (including 40 CFR 136 Method Update Rule May 2021) unless otherwise indicated. Certain parameters (chlorine, pH, dissolved oxygen, sulfite...) are required to be analyzed within 15 minutes of sampling. Usually, but not always, any field parameter analyzed at the laboratory is outside of this holding time. Refer to sample analysis time for confirmation of holding time compliance. The results are shown on the attached Report of Analysis(s). Results for solid matrices are reported on an as- received basis unless otherwise indicated.
