B.SITE HISTORY AND CHARACTERIZATION
Progress Environmental Group, Inc. (Progress) was contracted by Page Distributing Company, Inc. to
conduct underground storage tank (UST) closure activities at the Page Distributing Company Site located
at 150 Stratford Court in Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina (Figure 1). The site consists of
a former bulk oil facility which stored petroleum products in USTs for distribution and retail sale. At the
time of the removal the site was not an operating facility. The site is located in a generally commercial
area of Winston-Salem.It is likely that the surrounding properties are served by the Winston-Salem
municipal water-supply system. The closure activities included the removal of three gasoline USTs, two
new oil USTs, one diesel fuel UST, one waste oil UST, associated piping, and fuel dispensers.
