Hamptonville, Yadkin County NC Incident #15063 To Whom It May Concern: A water sample was collected from the supply well located at the site on June 14, 2010. According to the laboratory analysis performed on a water sample, the well contained benzene and methyl tertiary butyl ether at concentrations of 63 micrograms per liter (µg/l), and 28 µg/l, respectively. The current North Carolina 2L Standards for benzene and methyl tertiary butyl ether are one µg/l and 20 µg/l, respectively. The DWM completed a health risk evaluation (HRE) on the testing data, and based on the HRE, the water supplied from the well is not recommended for any residential use at this time. A copy of the HRE is attached. The Division of Waste Management is prepared to provide alternate water to the occupants of the site at no cost to Ashley Enterprises.
