Dear Mr. Wall:
The North Carolina Division of Waste Management is conducting an assessment at the William’s Grocery Store located at 2425 US Hwy 21, Hamptonville, NC. As part of the assessment, a water sample was collected from a supply well at property you own in the vicinity of the site on February 12, 2010. The water
sample was submitted for laboratory analysis of volatile organic compounds. According to the laboratory, chloroform were detected in the sample at a concentration of 0.60 micrograms per liter (µg/l). The North Carolina Subchapter 2L water quality standards for chloroform is 70 µg/l, respectively. The source of the
chloroform detected in your well is not known, and the DWM recommends that you contact the Yadkin County Health Department for information pertaining to the compounds present in the well. Your well is denoted as Wall 5 on the attached analytical report.
