Hamptonville NC 27020 RE: Notice of Residual Petroleum Former Williams Grocery 2425 US Hwy 21 Hamptonville, Yadkin County, NC Dear Ashley Enterprises: The North Carolina Division of Waste Management (DWM) is conducting an assessment at the former Williams Grocery Store property. Soil and groundwater at the site contain petroleum hydrocarbons at concentrations exceeding the applicable standards, and additional assessment and remediation is necessary before the site can be considered for closure. Also, since the property has not been remediated to the unrestricted use standards, a notice of residual petroleum must be recorded on the property deed. The notice of residual petroleum is required to inform future property owners that the site has not been remediated to the unrestricted use standards. The DWM intends to submit the notice of residual petroleum to the Yadkin County register of deeds within the next 45 days If you have any questions, please contact me at (919) 707-8170. Sincerely, Herbert Berger, Jr. Hydrogeologist Trust Fund Branch 15063_2014_02_27_NRP_Explaination_Ltr
