RE: Notice of No Further Action 15A NCAC 2L .0407(d)
Risk-based Assessment and Corrective Action for Petroleum Underground Storage Tanks
Town of Carolina Beach Garage, Incident Number 32959
406 Dow Road, Carolina Beach, New Hanover County, NC
In October 2014, a release was reported at the subject site. This site is part of the larger Carolina
Beach Property (owned by the Fed government – Sunny Point Army Terminal) that is being
actively remediated under an Inactive Hazardous Sites Corrective Action Plan, NONCD0002612.
Based on this information, the UST Section finds it appropriate to classify the risk of the former
discharge or release as low and that no further action is warranted for this incident as any
remaining assessment or remedial actions will be handled under the approved Inactive
Hazardous Sites Corrective Action Plan. This determination shall apply unless the UST Section
later determines that the discharge or release poses an unacceptable risk or a potentially
unacceptable risk to human health or the environment.
Should you have any questions concerning this notice, please contact Scott Ryals at 919-707-
