(WR) has prepared this letter report documenting the performance of assessment activities at the subject site in association with task authorization (TA) TA-01 under North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ) Contract # N70522-C, authorized by NCDEQ on February 28, 2023. WR personnel mobilized to the site on March 8, 2023 for the purposes of completing assessment activities associated with this TA. A site map is included as Figure 1. Groundwater Sampling WR was tasked with collecting groundwater samples from monitoring wells MW-15 and EM-3, which included the gauging, purging and sampling of the wells and submittal of groundwater samples for analysis by SM6200B. Prior to the sampling, WR personnel gauged MW-15 and EM- 3 with a decontaminated electronic water level indicator and determined the depth to groundwater within the wells. The depth to groundwater measurements were 5.93 feet below the top of casing (ft-BTOC) in monitoring well MW-15 and 5.96 ft-BTOC in monitoring well EM-3. Following gauging, the monitoring wells were purged and sampled using separate, disposable polyethylene bailers. Samples collected from monitoring wells MW-15 and EM-3 were contained in pre-preserved, laboratory grade bottles provided by Waypoint Analytical (Waypoint). The samples were submitted to Waypoint under chain of custody (COC) protocols for analysis of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) by SM6200B. This sample was obtained by WR personnel following a 15-minute purge of the well. Samples were collected in pre- preserved laboratory-grade sample containers supplied by Waypoint. Samples were relinquished to Waypoint under chain of custody protocols for analysis by SM6200B with the extended compound list requested. Laboratory Results Laboratory results for the groundwater samples obtained from monitoring wells MW-15 and EM- 3 and water supply well WSW on March 8, 2023 did not indicate the presence of targeted compounds at concentrations exceeding the laboratory method detection limits (MDLs). Data associated with the samples are also included in abbreviated Table B-4 (attached). The laboratory report for the samples is included as Attachment B. Conclusions No compounds were reported at concentrations above North Carolina Groundwater Quality Standards (NC 2L Standards), North Carolina Surface Water Standards (NC 2B Standards), or Gross Contamination Levels (GCLs).
