ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
1. Permitted signage was observed at facility entrance stating permit number, unacceptable waste, and
emergency contact information.
2. Interior roadway is of all-weather construction and well maintained.
3. A scale house attendant was present, weighing and screening incoming loads.
4. Trucks dump C&D Waste directly onto tipping floor under roof. If a load is dumped outside of designated
covered tipping area, it is immediately pushed onto tipping floor.
5. An excavator is used to load material into dock-load. Material is automatically fed onto a finger-screen
system which moves material in the MRF building for further processing.
6. Leachate drains were observed on tipping floor and in the MRF building. Leachate flows through an oil sand
separator prior to entering the city sewer system.
7. Leachate drain on tipping floor was clogged by dirt and debris. Mr. Canup was informed that leachate drains
should be cleaned often.
8. No vectors or fugitive dust were observed during inspection.
9. Fire lanes are maintained and cleared of any obstacles.
10. The Facility Annual Report for FY 21/22 was received by NCDEQ-Solid Waste Section on 07/26/2022.
