ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
The item(s) listed above were observed by Section staff and require action on behalf of the facility in order to come into or maintain compliance
with the Statutes, Rules, and/or other regulatory requirements applicable to this facility. Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an
administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit,
or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to
enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and
any such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
1. The facility is permitted to receive clean, untreated, and unpainted wood waste for use as ground mulch.
The facility is also permitted to receive painted wood waste and engineered or manufactured wood
waste for use in industrial fiber products.
2. Signage is posted at the facility’s entrance stating permit number, acceptable material, and emergency
contact information.
3. Facility is enclosed with a fence and a lockable security gate to prevent unauthorized entry.
4. Interior roadways are of all-weather construction and are well maintained.
5. Received materials and stored products was maintained in a reasonable size.
6. Access roads between stockpiles for fire-fighting vehicles and equipment was maintained.
7. No unapproved waste was observed in the material stockpile.
8. No vector pests were observed during inspection.
9. Standing water was observed during the inspection. Mr. Scharf stated that there is a pump in place, but the
water level needs to be at a certain height for it to pump the water. It is recommended that a new pump or draining
system be put in place to drain all the standing water.
10. The Facility Annual Report for FY 21/22 was received by NCDEQ – Solid Waste Section on 8/1/22.
