In response to this request the county Health Department and the Department of Environment, Health, and Natural Resources would like to schedule a date and time to sample your wells. Every year since the PCB landfill was closed ground water and streams around the landfill have been tested for PCB. Eighty four groundwater samples and 92 stream samples have been analyzed and no PCBs have been found. Fifty-five residential wells within a three mile radius of the landfill have been previously sampled and no PCBs were detected. The retesting of your well will provide a continuing measure of the safety of the PCB landfill. This additional sampling effort will reaffirm the commitment by the County and State to provide you with assurance that your drinking water is safe. Please contact the Health Department at ~ 257-1185 for a date and time that you would like for your well to be tested. The Environmental Science Laboratory in .. tl:~_.:g~J2_artment of Environment, Health, and Natural Resources will ~he samples for PCB and report the .results directly to you and the Health Department in approximately four weeks.
