Confirming our phone conversation of today, I have requested that
the North Carolina Department of Transportation perform corrective
erosion control measures at the landfill and continue to monitor and
maintain the existing cover until weather permits final completion of
the construction by the contractor. It is felt that this is necessary
in order to protect the integrity of the landfill and the expenditures
already committed by EPA to this project.
Accordingly and per our conversation, I am advising our fiscal
officer that these activities will be reimbursable under our CERCLA
cooperative agreement.
Please let me know if this does not meet with your approval.
