Box 3575 Akron, Ohio 44310 Dear Mr. Kelly: STATE HEAL TH DIRECTOR / Your letter, in reference to notification of PCB destruction in North Carolina, has been received. -- As you are aware, PCB's are regulated under TSCA regulations which E.P.A. has control over. Here in North Carolina, this Agency has been working with the E.P.A. in managing PCB's, so we would be the Agency to notify . As for local units of government, I know of no local regulations on PCB's. However, if you are to notify a local official, I would recommend County Managers or City Managers, depending on the location of your operation. (40 CFR 761.10 (F) (1)). We contacted the Regional Office of the United States Environmental Protection Agency and they referred us to your office. Could you be so kind as to provide us with a list of local government agencies that control or regulate PCB related activities in your State? An early reply would be appreciated as we are actively soliciting for PCB disposal work in your area. JJK/jb
