This memo is to inform you of our plans to allocate. several hundred
dollars from the "Superfund" public information budget to charter a bus
which will transport media representatives to one of the areas where we
will pick up PCB contaminated soil. We plan to cha~ter the bus for a half
day on the first day of the cleanup (around August 23). By using a chartered
bus, we will be able to keep all of the media together in one group so we
can make sure they get the footage they need and have all their questions
answered without interfering with the cleanup operations ~ Also, we will
eliminate any traffic problems that might arise if media representatives
were required to drive their own vehicles to the pickup area. The roads
will be conjested enough with the DOT equipment thau will be used during
the cleanup.
