Dear Bi 11,
Many thanks for setting up the meeting with yourself, \Bill Meyer and Dr. Huisingh.
Dr. Kopecky and I appreciated the opportunity to present some of our latest data
on our products for microbial degradation of PCB's. I\t was a rare opportunity to
have expert feedback on the technical, regulatory, and legal sides of such a complex
issue.
As you probably realized at the meeting, Sybron produc~s are capable of producing
efficient levels of degradation . We are continuing to[ work towards the identifi-
cation of the breakdown products from the PCB, as well as studies to identify any
other environmental dangers from our mutant organisms. Sybron expects to have our
new mutants for PCB degradation available within the n~xt few months.
Of course, our regular mutant bacterial cultures for industrial waste treatment
are available now and require no special precautions. As an exampie of the effective-
ness of these products, I am enclosing a case study of the cleanup of a phenol sludge.
If there are further questions, please call me at 609-894-821 1.
