This report describes activities which occurred during the month of May as part of the Remedial Design and Remedial Action phase of this project. PRO.JECT TASKS INITIATED OR COMPLETED THROUGH May 1997: • Quarterly sampling of the twelve monitor wells and remediation systems • Continued O & M of systems. RESULTS OF SAMPLING AND TESTING AND OTHER DAT A RECEIVED: • • • Laboratory results for May sampling of the remediation systems is included in this progress report. Tables 1 to 4 summarize the analytical results for the four groundwater treatment systems. Table 5 records the analytical results for the 12 monitor wells . Table 6 records the air quality sampling. The effluent air samples collected from the groundwater remediation systems for May were reported by the laboratory as below the detection limit. Air samples were not collected from the soil vapor extraction (SVE) system because· the SVE motor was being repaired at the time of the May sample activities. The SVE air samples will be collected in the month of June. 751 Arbor Street• Concord, North Carolinu 28025 • Tel: (704) 795-7075 • Fax; (704) 795-7076 D 0 I I D D D D D I n Ms. Giezelle Bennett June 9, 1997 Page No. 2 • • • • • Table 7 summarizes groundwater elevations recorded since system start up. Monitor wells and recovery wells were gauged. Upper Dockery flow meter reading for May totaled 289,938 gallons. System was operational 100% of the time averaging 5.44 gallons per minute (GPM). Mass VOC removal was 0.18 pounds for the month and the cumulative is 7 .02 pounds. Lower Dockery flow meter reading for May totaled 684,855 gallons. System was operational 100% of the time averaging 12.85 GPM. Mass VOC removal was 0.66 pounds for the month and the cumulative is 4.15 pounds.
