Case Narrative Report 8964 7 The samples were collected on 4 December, 1997 and received by AS! INC. 6 December, 1997. Conditions for proper sample receipt were met as indicated on the Chain of Custody. The samples were logged into the LIMS as report 89647 for the following analyses as per client request: PCB (EPA 608), BNA (EPA 625), VOA (EPA 624), Metals (EPA 200.7, 270.2, 239.2, 279.2, 245.1), BOD (EPA 405.1), CN (EPA 335.2), pH (EPA ISO.I), O/G (EPA 1664), NH3 (EPA 350.2) and TSS (EPA 160.2). All holding times for sample preparation and analysis were met with exception of pH which is best analyzed in the field, and BOD which is set on Wednesdays and Fridays while these samples were received on a Saturday. PCB analysis (EPA 608) met all data quality objectives. BNA analysis (EPA 625) met all data quality objectives. VOA analysis (EPA 624) gave high LCSRPD for 1,3-Dichlorobenzene and high 1,2-Dichloroethane-d4 for 89634-4MSD. All spike and surrogate recoveries were acceptable. Metals analysis (EPA 200.7) gave high blanks for Ca and Na which led to elevated detecion limits for those elements. The recovery for MS was high for Na; PDS was low for Ag, Al, Ba, Ca, Cd, Cu, Mg, Na, Ni and Zn. Se analysis (EPA 270.2) gave high PDS. Pb analysis (EPA 239.2) gave high LCSRPD. Tl analysis (EPA 279.2) gave low MS/MSD/PDS. All other quality controls were acceptable. Hg analysis (EPA 245.1) met all data quality objectives. BOD analysis (EPA 405.1) gave acceptable recoveries for all lab controls and duplicates. CN analysis (EPA 335.2) met all data quality objectives. pH analysis (EPA 150.1) met all data quality objectives. 0/G analysis (EPA 1664) had insufficient sample for MSD and high LCSRPD. The batch passes on individual lab control recoveries and the MS. NH3 analysis (EPA 350.2) met all data quality objectives. TSS analysis (EPA 160.2) met all data quality objectives. 0--~~ Julia E.
