As part of the continuing well sampling program conducted by
Beazer Materials and Services, Inc. (formerly Koppers Company,
Inc.), in the vicinity of its former plant, Keystone
Environmental Resources, Inc. (KER) sampled your well on August
14-16, 1989. The analytical results obtained by KER are
attached. Two chemicals formerly used in the wood-treating
process at the plant were analyzed. No isopropylether (IPE) was
detected but a trace amount of pentachlorophenol (PCP) was found.
Dr. Ted Taylor, Toxicologist, Environmental Epidemiology Branch,
North Carolina Division of Health Services, has indicated that
the level of PCP currently detected in your well suggests, as a
precautionary measure, that water from your well should not be
used for drinking or cooking purposes. All other normal uses of
the water may continue. We will supply you with bottled water.
The drinking water will be supplied by Willow Springs on a
regular two week delivery. Within the next several days you will
be contacted to discuss your drinking water requirements.
Thank you for your cooperation in permitting the sample to be
taken. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to

Dear Ms. Dunnigan and Ms. Allen:
As part of the continuing well sampling program conducted by
Beazer Materials and Services, Inc. (formerly Koppers Company,
Inc.), in the vicinity of its former plant, Keystone
Environmental Resources, Inc. (KER) sampled your well on August
14-16, 1989. The analytical results obtained by KER are
attached. Two chemicals formerly used in the wood-treating
process at the plant were analyzed. No isopropylether (IPE) was
detected cut a trace amount of pentachlorophenol (PCP) was found.
Thank you for your cooperation in permitting the sample to be
taken. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to
contact me.
Sincerely,
~Kt.~
