Environmental Services, Inc. (KER) sampled your well on May 3-4,
1989. The analytical results obtained by KER are attached.
The results relating to pentachlorophenol (PCP) have been
determined to be invalid because the Trip Blank submitted for
testing at the same time tested positive for PCP. A Trip Blank
is a clean water sample submitted to the testing laboratory along
with the actual well samples in order to check the validity of
the lab test results. Since it was clean water, it should have
tested negative for PCP. Instead, the May 3 results indicate
0.051 ppb of PCP in the Trip Blank, which invalidates PCP
detections below that level. Your well will have to be re-
tested, as is discussed below.
As a precautionary measure, we will supply you with bottled water
until we can determine by valid data the status of your well.
Within the next several days you will be contacted to discuss
your drinking water requirements, and arrangements will be made
for water delivery service.
Keystone Environmental Resources, Inc. (KER) will sample wells on
August 16-18, 1989. This sampling program is conducted with
cooperation and assistance of the Wake County Department of
Health and North Carolina Department of Health Services. Please
complete the enclosed consent form and give it to the Keystone
representative when he calls to perform the sampling. You will

Dear Mr. Harding & Ms. Robinson:
As part of the continuing well sampling program conducted by
Beazer Materials and Services, Inc. (formerly Koppers Company,
Inc.), in the vicinity of its former plant, Keystone
Environmental Resources, Inc. (KER) sampled your well on May 3-4,
1989. The analytical results obtained by KER are attached.
The results relating to pentachlorophenol (PCP) have been
determined to be invalid because ·the Trip Blank submitted for
testing at the same time tested positive for PCP.
You are already being supplied bottled water, and we will
continue to supply you water based on the results from February.
Thank you for your cooperation. If you have any questions,
