(AECOM) on behalf of Speedway LLC (Speedway) has prepared this Groundwater Sampling Letter Report for Speedway Store No. 7967 (Site), located at 1835 US Highway 70 SE,Hickory, Catawba County, North Carolina. On December 15,2022, two ground water samples were collected from monitoring well MW-01R and MW- 06 and submitted for analysis of VOC’s by EPA Method 6200B and EDB by EPA Method 504.1. A site location map and site map have been included as Figure 1 and Figure 2. Please see the attached Laboratory report for the results of the December 2022 groundwater sampling event. Analysis of the Groundwater samples collected on December 2022, indicated a rebound of Benzene and other contaminates of concern continue to impact in the site monitoring wells MW-01R and MW-06. Groundwater sampled from MW-06 exhibit petroleum compounds at concentrations exceeding Benzene GCLs.A copy of the laboratory report is included as Attachment A. It was also noted that MW-01 contained 0.96 ft of NLAPL at the time site wells were gauged,December 15, 2022.AECOM recommends LNAPL recovery by performing an 8 hour AFVR on MW-01 and continued semi-annual groundwater monitoring of wells MW-01R and MW-06. ND - Not Detected at or above adjusted reporting limit. TNTC - Too Numerous To Count J - Estimated concentration above the adjusted method detection limit and below the adjusted reporting limit. MDL - Adjusted Method Detection Limit. PQL - Practical Quantitation Limit. RL - Reporting Limit - The lowest concentration value that meets project requirements for quantitative data with known precision and bias for a specific analyte in a specific matrix. S - Surrogate 1,2-Diphenylhydrazine decomposes to and cannot be separated from Azobenzene using Method 8270. The result for each analyte is a combined concentration. Consistent with EPA guidelines, unrounded data are displayed and have been used to calculate % recovery and RPD values. LCS(D) - Laboratory Control Sample (Duplicate) MS(D) - Matrix Spike (Duplicate) DUP - Sample Duplicate RPD - Relative Percent Difference NC - Not Calculable. SG - Silica Gel - Clean-Up U - Indicates the compound was analyzed for, but not detected. Acid preservation may not be appropriate for 2 Chloroethylvinyl ether. A separate vial preserved to a pH of 4-5 is recommended in SW846 Chapter 4 for the analysis of Acrolein and Acrylonitrile by EPA Method 8260. N-Nitrosodiphenylamine decomposes and cannot be separated from Diphenylamine using Method 8270. The result reported for each analyte is a combined concentration. Reported results are not rounded until the final step prior to reporting. Therefore, calculated parameters that are typically reported as "Total" may vary slightly from the sum of the reported component parameters. Pace Analytical is TNI accredited. Contact your Pace PM for the current list of accredited analytes. TNI - The NELAC Institute. ANALYTE QUALIFIERS Matrix spike recovery exceeded QC limits. Batch accepted based on laboratory control sample (LCS) recovery.M1 Analyte recovery in the matrix spike was outside QC limits for one or more of the constituent analytes used in the calculated result.MS REPORT OF LABORATORY ANALYSIS This report shall not be reproduced, except in full, without the written consent of Pace Analytical Services, LLC.Date: 12/29/2022 03:36 PM Pace Analytical Services, LLC 9800 Kincey Ave. Suite 100 Huntersville, NC 28078 (704)875-9092 Page 13 of 17 #=CR# QUALITY CONTROL DATA CROSS REFERENCE TABLE Pace Project No.: Project: 92642471 7967-HICKORY-60689821 Lab ID Sample ID QC Batch Method QC Batch Analytical Method Analytical Batch 92642471001 745594 745751MW-01R EPA 504.1 EPA 504.1 92642471002 745594 745751MW-06 EPA 504.1 EPA 504.1 92642471001 744983MW-01R SM 6200B 92642471002 744377MW-06 SM 6200B REPORT OF LABORATORY ANALYSIS This report shall not be reproduced, except in full, without the written consent of Pace Analytical Services, LLC.Date: 12/29/2022 03:36 PM Pace Analytical Services, LLC 9800 Kincey Ave. Suite 100 Huntersville, NC 28078 (704)875-9092 Page 14 of 17 Page 15 of 17 Page 16 of 17 Page 17 of 17
