Mr. Brown,

WR is overseeing UST system closure work at the subject site in Madison, Stokes County under
the UST Section’s Abandoned Tank Contract and we report to Ms. Andria Archer of the UST
Section in Raleigh. Per your conversation with Ms. Archer yesterday, attached is a request to
abandon two of the USTs at this site in place, due to the location of these USTs beneath a
building addition that is currently used by the property owner.

With your approval, WR and the UST removal contractor Eastern Environmental Management are
equipped to complete the recommended in-place closure work while we are on site this
week. Please let me know if this would be acceptable and if you have any questions regarding
the attached request. Thank you for your time and consideration.
