(Pilot), ATC Associates of North Carolina, P.C. (ATC) has prepared this letter report to provide a summary of the groundwater sampling event performed at the site. A site map is provided as Figure 1. LNAPL Check On October 18, 2022, ATC personnel measured monitoring wells MW-15, MW-21, MW-26A, and MW-28 for the presence of light non-aqueous phase liquid (LNAPL). On this date, LNAPL was measured as follows: • Monitoring well MW-15: 0.52 feet • Monitoring well MW-21: 1.10 feet • Monitoring well MW-26A: 3.01 feet • Monitoring well MW-28: 0.37 feet Groundwater Sampling On October 18, 2022, ATC collected static water level measurements from monitoring wells MW-A1A, MW-3, MW-4, MW-5, MW-19, MW-20, MW-25, and MW-27. LNAPL was not measured in these wells on this date. The depths to water measurements were collected using an electronic oil/water interface probe. Groundwater elevation data is provided in Table 1. A groundwater elevation contour map is provided as Figure 2. It appears groundwater flows southwest across the site. Winston-Salem, North Carolina 27105 450 West Hanes Mill Road, Suite 300 Division of Waste Management - UST Section Winston-Salem Regional Office North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality Ms. Mindy Lepard November 14, 2022 ffiffi November 14,2022 Page 2 of 2 On October 18,2022, groundwater samples were collected from wells MW-AlA, MW-3, MW-4, MW-5, MW-19, MW-20, MW-25" and MW-27, following standard sampling protocols. The groundwater samples were collected into laboratory-approved containers, packed in ice, and delivered under chain-of-custody to SGS North America, Inc. (SGS) in Scott, Louisiana, for analyses. The groundwater samples collected from monitoring wells MW-AIA, MW-3, MW-4, MW-5, and MW-25 were analyzed by Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Method 62008 to include ethanol and oxygenates. The groundwater samples collected from monitoring wells MW-19, MW-20, and MW-27 were analyzed by EPA Method 602 and EPA Method 625 (PAHs only). Laboratory analytical results of the groundwater sample collected from monitoring well MW-5 detected a dissolved benzene concentration above its established Gross Contaminant Level (CCL). LNAPL was measured in monitoring wells MW-15. MW-21, MW-26A, and MW-28. A summary of the groundwater analy'tical data is provided in Table 2. Dissolved target compound concentrations, exceeding CCLs, is provided as Figure J. A copy of the laboratory analytical report is included as Attachment I. Sincerely.
