Dear, Mr. Finlen

Geological Resources, Inc. (GRI) is conducting ground water assessment and remediation activities to
mitigate the effects of a petroleum release from underground storage tanks (USTs) at the Garrison’s Store
site, located at 5040 NC Highway 65, Reidsville, North Carolina. As part of the assessment, GRI proposes
to abandon all water supply wells within a 250-foot radius of the source area in order to lower the risk
classification of the release.

It is GRI’s understanding that you are the owner of the property identified as Rockingham County Parcel
No. 795300778778 and that two water supply wells are located on this property. It is our understanding
that one of the potential wells is not actually a well. Please provide photos of the wellhouse so we may
confirm that no well is located in this area. GRI is requesting your permission to abandon these wells. If
this well is in use, the property will have to be connected to municipal water. The cost for the water
supply well abandonment and municipal water connection will come as no cost to you, since the proposed
scope of work is directed by NCDEQ. Please indicate in the spaces provided below if you will allow your
water well to be abandoned and your properties be connected to municipal water. We would greatly
appreciate a response, even if you choose not to abandon your well at this time.
