This SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT FACILITY FIRE OCCURRENCE NOTIFICATION was filled outby Jeffrey Bullard based on details from phone conversation and attached email from David Ryder. Extinguished the fire using heavy equipment by rolling burning material into a designated area to allow material to burnout. Water applied, completely extinguished within 3 hours. Spontaneous combustion resulting from build of of heat within compressed moistened overs material. Area between the pit and the building in front. Approximately 200 yards of material involved. Reducing the size of feedstock piles, stricter management of material stockpiles. Reducing the size of material stockpiles, Stricter management of material stockpiles preventing the commingling of green mulch and overs material. Improve access roads to piles to allow access and faster response time to piles in case of fires. David Ryder reported incedent operation supervisor x 8/15/2022 09/22/2022Jeffrey Bullard Continue managing stockpiled material to prevent internal heat build up, prevent commingling of green feedstock material and overs. Take proactive measures during windy conditions to prevent flare ups in fire prone areas.
