Notice is provided to the local Health Director, chief administrative officer, property owners and occupants within or contiguous to the area containing the contamination or the area where the contamination is expected to migrate. You are receiving this notice because you are listed as the current property owner of the above mentioned property. Please note, no action is required on your part Our office is in the process of filing a Notice of Residual Petroleum (NRP) with the Wilson County Register of Deeds for the above mentioned property. At this location, soil contamination exceeds the residential maximum soil contaminant concentrations (MSCCs) established in Title 15A NCAC 2L .0411. A Notice of No Further Action will be issued upon completion of the filing of the approved NRP and upon receipt of confirmation that public notice requirements have been completed. The Notice of Residual Petroleum is for soil. The deed restrictions as they appear on the NRP are listed below. Please note that the NRP can be removed from the deed if future sample results show that concentrations have fallen to below “unrestricted use standards”. PERPETUAL LAND USE RESTRICTIONS Soil: The Site shall be used for industrial/commercial use only. Industrial/commercial use means a use where exposure to soil contamination is limited in time and does not involve exposure to children or other sensitive populations such as the elderly or sick. The real property shall not be developed or utilized for residential purposes including but not limited to: primary or secondary residences (permanent or temporary), schools, daycare centers, nursing homes, playgrounds, parks, recreation areas and/or picnic areas. The WaRO UST Section may be contacted at (252)-946-6481 during normal business hours to answer questions pertaining to this report or to arrange for an examination of the information on file related to this incident.
