(2) L1 = Analyte recovery in the laboratory control sample (LCS) was above quality control (QC) limits. Results for this analyte in associated samples may be biased high (3) D3 = Sample was diluted due to the presence of high levels of non-target analytes or other matrix interference (4) M1 = Matrix spike (MS) recovery exceeded QC limits. Result may be biased high (7) Relative percent difference (RPD) value was outside control limits (8) J = Estimated concentration above the adjusted method detection limit and below the adjusted reporting limit (9) S = MS/MSD failure (10) B = Detected in the method blank (11) H = Due to an error at the vendor laboratory, the total Hexavalent Chromium analysis was performed past the method recommended holding time (12) E = Quantitation of compound exceeded the calibration range (13) HA = Hand Auger (14) GP = Geoprobe (15) CAMA = Coal Ash Management Act (16) PSRG = Preliminary Soil Remediation Goals 1 CAMA Background Threshold Values (BTVs) were calculated using data from background unsaturated soil samples collected from June 2015 to August 2018 2 Duke Energy Piedmont Regional BTV ranges include the Duke Energy calculated 2017 and 2019 BTVs from 10 Duke Energy facilities located in the Piedmont physiographic region (Allen Steam Station, Belews Creek Steam Station, Buck Steam Station, Cape Fear Steam Electric Plant, Cliffside Steam Station, Dan River Steam Station, Marshall Steam Station, Mayo Steam Electric Plant, Riverbend Steam Station, and Roxboro Steam Electric Plant) 3 There are 22 COIs for Marshall Steam Station per the Comprehensive Site Assessment Update, Synterra, 2018. However, analysis of 2 of the COIs (lithium and total radium) were not required per the Excavation Soil Sampling Plan for Marshall Steam Station Dry Ash Landfill Phase I (Permit No. INDUS-1804), Revision 2, 2019. Total dissolved solids (TDS) is also included as a COI for Marshall Steam Station, but TDS cannot be analyzed for in soil or SPLP samples.
