Wommack LCID Permit #N0616 300 West 101" Street Weldon, North Carolina GPS (decimal degrees): Lat: 36.420259' Long:-77.606748' Dear Mr. Wommack, On May 13, 2021, the State of North Carolina, Division of Waste Management Solid Waste Section (Section) issued a Notice of Violation (NOV) letter to you regarding violations at your land clearing and inert debris (LCID) landfill located at 300 West 101" Street, Weldon, NC in Halifax County. The Section conducted a follow-up inspection of the Site on June 30, 2021. During the follow-up inspection it was determined that the identified construction and demolition (C&D) waste had been removed from the site. However, the LCID waste had not been compacted and covered nor moved away from property lines to meet appropriate buffers. It was also determined during the follow-up inspection that you are continuing to accept waste at the facility. Due to the fact that the violations(s) noted in the May 13, 2021 NOV letter have not been corrected at the is time, you are hereby notified that the Section intends to move forward in the enforcement process. In order to potentially abate any further action forthcoming, it is recommended that the corrective actions listed in the NOV letter be taken immediately upon receipt of this notice. Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the NC General Statutes.
