IV. Inspector Comments
V. PHOTOGRAPHS
Photo 1: Entrance to Tremont Station (Former Corey Transmission) from W. Tremont Ave.
The Site Inspection was performed with DEQ Brownfield personnel from the Winston-
Salem regional office while visiting several properties in the immediate vicinity (Powers &
Gas Fired Products). As covered within the Vapor Mitigation Section, several VIMS
related components were inspected during the site visit. One section of garage slab had
been broken up in the vicinity of a VIMS riser (Photo 5), and if not already planned, the
sub-slab monitoring points in the round plastic irrigation type vaults will need to be
sealed with a cap or a plug (Photo 7). The active fans proposed for townhomes bordering
W. Tremont were not installed at the time of the inspection.

Photo 3: Close up of partial VIMS barrier installation, and clean stone. It did not appear that
sub-slab piping had been installed yet, although it might have been below the stone layer.

points will require a sealed cap or plug to eliminate potential debris or moisture from entering
the point.
