Dear Sarah:
On behalf of Sampson County Disposal, LLC (SCD), Smith Gardner, Inc. (S+G) has prepared
this notification of the financial assurance mechanism, in accordance with 15A NCAC 13B
.1801(h). This notification is being submitted within 180 days of the financial assurance
renewal date , January 1st. No revisions to the previous financial assurance calculations' are
proposed for the financial assurance renewal outside the annual inflation multiplier.
SCD currently operates Cells 1 through 11 of the MSW landfill and Phases 1 and 2A of the
C&D landfill. These areas will remain active through the upcoming financial assurance
renewal. Additionally, no area has been closed since the previous financial assurance
mechanism renewal. A summary of the total landfill footprint, current operating area, and
closed area are summarized in Table 1, below.
