Attach a notification table with values that attain or exceed NC 2L groundwater standards or NC 2B surface water standards. The notification
must include a preliminary analysis of the cause and significance of each value. (e.g, naturally occurring, off -site source, pre-existing
condition, etc.).
Attach a notification table of any groundwater or surface water values that equal or exceed the reporting limits.
Attach a notification table of any methane gas values that attain or exceed explosive gas levels. This includes any structures on or nearby the
facility (NCAC 13B .1629 (4)(a)(i).

May 2022 Monthly CAP Report
Dear Ms. Drummond:
Mecklenburg County conducted monthly corrective action plan monitoring at the closed
Holbrooks Road Landfill on May 5, 2022 in accordance with the approved corrective action plan
dated November 2, 2018. This report details the results of that monitoring event.
Samples were collected from nine (9) landfill gas probes (HP-3, HP-4, HP-8R, HP-9, HP15R,
HP-16R, HP48R, HP-245 HP-255 HP-26 and HP-27), nine (9) trench vents (MV-I, MV-25 MV-35
MV4, MV-5, MV-6, MV-7, MV4 and MV-9), one on site building (Building), the passive flare
landfill gas system (SYS2) and the active landfill gas system (SYST, GWO1 and GW02).
Results of the landfill gas extraction systems are shown in Table 1. The Landfill Gas Monitoring
Data Form is also attached. The valve that connects the system to HP-15R remains fully opened.
The valve the connects the system to the former passive trench was closed. There was not enough
vacuum on the system with the trench valve open. A request to modify landfill gas probe HP-9 to
a venting probe was submitted to you on February 10, 2022 and approved February 14, 2022. The
modifications to HP-9 were completed February 18, 2022. The valve on HP-9 is fully open and
has been since the modifications were complete on February 18. The valve will remain open to
vent the landfill gas in this area.
