V. PHOTOGRAPHS
Photo 1: Current 8” dia. cast iron VIMS discharge with rain cap in center of photograph.
Entrance to upper garage level visible on right side of photo, while stairwell with its own roof
mounted air intake is visible on the right side of the photograph.
DEQ met with ATC and Lincoln Harris to determine how current VIMS exhaust riser
(Photo 1) could be rerouted to meet acceptable standards. After discussing options that
involved installing a portion of the riser on one of the two upper floors of the parking
deck, and discharging outside of parking deck, a couple of options were evaluated on the
first floor of the building where the riser could exit the side of the building, and extend up
exterior of building the appropriate distance to meet AARST guidelines regarding building
openings, etc. (Photos 2 and 3). ATC to evaluate possibilities discussed and provide an
alternate path for the VIMS exhaust stack to DEQ for approval.

Photo 2: Cast iron VIMS exhaust riser visible in center of photograph turning 90 degrees vertical
to top of parking garage level and terminating at Photo 1. Currently evaluating the elimination
of vertical portion of riser and exiting building at this location.
Photo 3: Discussed extending riser horizontally out narrower opening to the right of the garage
entrance and extending it up the center of the brick wall to the appropriate height. Other
relocation methods on the upper two parking garage levels are also being considered.
