Dear Ms. Moutos:
The Solid Waste Section approved Duke Energy's request for installing three piezometers associated with
Industrial Landfill No.1 (1812-INDUS-2008) Phase 3 in a letter dated March 1, 2022. The three piezometers
included CLF22-305, CLF22-306, and CLF22-307.
Duke Energy is providing the certification report with well construction records and boring logs for the three
piezometer installations with this submittal. The piezometer installations were conducted by AECOM and Geologic
Exploration on March 21 and 22, 2022. Well construction records were submitted separately to the NCDEQ
Information Processing Unit.

In accordance with your request and to satisfy the requirements outlined in the North Carolina Department of Environmental
Quality (DEQ) Division of Solid Waste Management Facility Permit, AECOM is providing Duke Energy with this memorandum to
certify the installation of three new piezometers at the Marshall Steam Station in Terrell, North Carolina. Specifically, the
following piezometers were installed by Geologic Exploration (NC Well Contractor Certification NumberA-3098) between March
21 and 22, 2022: CLF22-305, CLF22-306, and CLF22-307. Piezometer details are presented in Table 1, below. Installation of
these piezometers was performed in accordance with 15 NCAC Subchapter 02C — Well Construction Standards.
