Many of the units have been completed with owners moving in. Others are currently under construction and not occupied. There appear to be at least some occupied townhomes within other townhome buildings (units 227 – 239, and units 261 and 261A). Summary: N/A Condition: Summary: N/A DEQ was previously unaware of the presence of soil contact walls as they were not shown in the DEQ approved VIMP. Consultant reports that BoneDry® RPT waterproofing was installed on exterior of soil contact walls although a VI rated barrier was not installed (Photo 7). It has not been determined at the date of the SIR if this was a satisfactory barrier to address potential VI issues and additional assessment is being required to determine this. Based on the installation of waterproofing alone, without the installation of a true VI barrier, there is the possibility that VI through the soil contact walls could be a potential issue. PHOTOGRAPHS Photo 1: Southern side of Unit 217 with soil contact wall visible on exterior of townhome. Initially onsite to investigate the possibility of soil contact walls in townhomes 210-217 which are completing construction. While onsite, confirmed this was the case (Photos 1- 3). During the Site Inspection, observed that all of the townhomes located along Statesville Ave. have soil contact walls along the fronts of the units (photos 2, 3, 4 6 and 7), although the end units of each townhome “building” also have a soil contact side wall (Photos 1 and 5).
