Dear Al,
As you are aware, the Transfer Station tipping floor is in need of repair, and it seems that about
every 5 to 6 years we will routinely make repairs until we invent a better system. Budget
planning is coming up soon and again I will try to install water lines for hydrants in the Transfer
Station area for wash down and fire protection. Having a clean floor will reduce abrasion and
extend the tipping floor life some.
As we make plans for the tipping floor repair, I will request that we construct a secondary
loading station, adjacent to the current floor, so that we can operate without any problems while
the main floor in under construction. After construction is complete, the second loading area
would then become our Load Screening area as needed, but also would accept daily waste from
non -self unloading vehicles. This should help our traffic problems and prevent some
contaminated or hot loads from entering the main tipping floor.
I have a two part question. Will we need to request an operating permit amendment for the
second loading area, and if my request to construct a second area is denied, will I be able to
obtain a permit for a "Temporary Management Area During Repair of the Transfer Facility"?
Loading from the ground will be my last choice, however, possible.

I am just initiating some early planning, but get back to me as soon as possible.
