RE: Tremfer Trailer Fire Reporting
Al,
"Phis is to inform you of a fire that occurred at our facility on 30 September 2003. The fire
was spotted at approximately 4pm, as smoke rose from a parked transport trailer near the
scales. Staff hooked to this trailer and placed it in an area that would not in danger
swu rounding equipment or buildings, at the same time, the fire department was called, by
the time the trailer was relocated, the Marion Fire Dept arrived. We unloaded the waste
on the ground below the transfer station and put the fire out as it was unloaded. We could
not find any evidence as to what started the fire. The contents was our normal waste
stream composition,
Jon Lewis took some pictures and we will forward a copy to you at a later date. On the
scene during this was Jon Lewis, transfer station supervisor, Marion Fire Department and
there chief, also were supporting units and volunteers from other fire departments.
