OBSERVED VIOLATIONS: NONE The item(s) listed above were observed by Section staff and require action on behalf of the facility in order to come into or maintain compliance with the Statutes, Rules, and/or other regulatory requirements applicable to this facility. Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit, or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules. FACILITY COMPLIANCE INSPECTION REPORT Division of Waste Management Solid Waste Section Page 2 of 2 ADDITIONAL COMMENTS 1) This facility consists of two – 10,000 gallons steel tanks for the storage of grease septage. This facility is located on the same parcel as Septage Land Application Site, SLAS-79-02. 2) The “No Trespassing” signage was at the entrance to the Septage Land Application Site. This meets the requirement of Rule 15A NCAC 13B .0838(k). 3) Access road to the tanks was in good shape and meets the requirement of Rule 15A NCAC 13B .0838(b). 4) The storage tanks were accessible for inspection. Nothing blocking the walls of the tanks from view. 5) Tanks appeared to be structurally sound. No holes or cracks observed which may allow the escape of septage out of the tank as per Rule 15A NCAC 13B .0838(c). No leaks noticed. 6) Septage appears to be transferred to and from the tank in a manner that prevents leaks or spills of septage onto the tank or ground as per 15A NCAC 13B .0838(j). 7) No vector or odor issues noticed as covered within Rules 15A NCAC 13B .0838(e)(2) and .0838(g). 8) No change noticed that would impact setback distances. 0BUpslope of the two – 10,000 gallons steel tanks. 1BDownslope of the two – 10,000 gallons steel tanks.
