Solid Waste Transfer Station
Dear Mr. Jewett:
On behalf of Madison County, we are providing this letter in response to your letter dated
November 2, 2000 regarding the new Solid Waste Transfer Station located at the Madison
County MSW Landfill for your review. A copy of your letter is attached for your convenience.
Your comments have been addressed in the order that were presented in your letter.
1. The proposed disposal facility for the waste from the Madison County Solid
Waste Transfer Station is the Carter Valley Landfill in Church Hill, Tennessee
operated by Waste Management, Inc. The revised Operation Plan is attached.
2. The procedures for pumping and hauling wash down water have been added to
the Operations Plan. A letter from the Town of Marshall stating their agreement
to accept wash down water from the transfer station has been added to the revised
Operation Plan.
3. The Erosion and Sediment Control Plan has been approved. A copy of the
approval letter has been added to the revised Operation Plan.
4. A letter from Madison County stating that the transfer station location is on
property zoned for solid waste activities has been added to the revised Operation
Plan.
